One of the themes throughout your article seems to be complacency from consumers. This phenomenon has been discussed mostly through the introduction of Alexa and other home assistants. Artificial Intelligence and Alexa defenders often come to the same point, what is different about Alexa and the cell phone that is within three feet of its user at all times? There are microphones on both devices, and as you mention cell phones have cameras. I think users of Alexa (and to a lesser extent, smartphones) have made a decision that the convenience that comes with using devices with Artificial Intelligence and “always listening” settings is more valuable to them than the privacy they lose.
